We work hard and have fun and make cool things. Want to join us?

After much discussion at Gaslight Creative, we’ve decided to try a different approach in the quest to find the right intern. Whether you’re a designer or an account person, creativity is key when it comes to joining our team. See below for details on how to apply to Gaslight’s Design and Communications internships.

Design Intern Application:

As a Design Intern, it’s critical you’re able to break down an idea into it’s purest form and communicate it. Therefore, we’ve decided to run a contest for our next Design Intern. For the application, we decided to borrow an assignment Jodie deemed fitting from an old professor. The task is to design a 11×17 poster with the words: You cannot not communicate. That is it. Do with it as you wish.

On top of submitting a kick-ass poster, this person should be willing to commit part-time (about 20 hours per week) for both the fall and spring semesters. We understand your availability will change depending on your class schedule. The ideal candidate is creative, highly collaborative and passionate about the industry. Is comfortable and willing to take direction from Senior designers and is a multi-task extraordinaire. A solid understanding and proper execution of typography is a necessity.

All Design Intern applicants can send their posters in PDF format to jodie@gaslightcreative.com. No need to send your resume at this time. If we feel your piece most effectively conceptualizes the idea, Jodie will contact you for more details. Deadline for applications is 5 PM on October 1st, 2013.

Not a designer but interested in working at Gaslight? You’re in luck!

Communication Intern Application

Gaslight Creative is also looking for one person to serve as our Communications Intern part-time (about 20 hours per week) for both the fall and spring semesters. We understand your availability will change depending on your class schedule. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, hard-working self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Someone who is professional but doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Someone who is flexible and has a passion for the industry.

As an Communications Intern, you will do the following:

-Support client’s strategic initiatives and ongoing digital and print branding work

-Support client’s website revamp

-Assist in the maintenance of in-house client documents and artwork archives

-Provide creative ideas and plans to support Gaslight’s overall marketing efforts

Send your resume to jodie@gaslightcreative.com. No cover letters, please – we both know they’re a bunch of BS anyway. Put that extra time into proofing your resume. Deadline for applications is 5 PM on October 1st, 2013.
