Growing up in rural Minnesota, I always dreamt of more than my small town could offer. I knew there was life beyond the 910 people I proudly stated could be found on my town’s population sign. After graduating high school, I moved to the big city of St. Paul and attended the University of St. Thomas. I know it’s no New York City, but it was a BIG change for this small town girl! I packed up my bags and put a big check mark next to that dream.
I thrived in city life. I loved the hustle and bustle around me and felt at home on the quiet campus of UST. In a way, I left one small community for another. In 2016, I graduated as a Tommie with a degree in Communications and an emphasis in Advertising. The new dream? To live in a high-rise Downtown Minneapolis and pursue my passions at one of the many renowned ad agencies in town. But, as luck would have it, that’s not really how my life turned out.
I fell in love and chased a boy an hour northwest to St. Cloud. That downtown condo was now a college house with five boys, and my glamorous agency job was now an in-house marketing gig. People said I was crazy, and maybe I was, but five years later, I’m confident that was the best decision I could have made. It took me down a different path and brought me to a life I truly love.
I started my career in-house, and I’ve been hanging out in that space for the last five years. In that time, I learned more about myself and my abilities than I would have had my initial plan worked out. Working in-house, you wear many hats; you are the designer, the strategist, the event planner, the digital expert, and sometimes even the receptionist. In many ways, I was a one-woman agency within the companies I worked for. I loved my in-house jobs but still yearned for more, never truly letting go of my agency dreams. Fast-forward to 2021, and here I am, finally living out that dream as the new Account Manager at Gaslight!
Having worked in-house for all that time, I am excited for the perspective I can bring to the Gaslight team and our clients. During my in-house journey, I worked with many outside agencies, and I learned quickly what makes for a good one. Those experiences are what I will bring with me as your Account Manager. My goal with every client is to truly immerse myself in their business and become a partner they can trust. I’m excited to be the newest addition to Gaslight Creative and lay the groundwork for successful agency/in-house relationships. Let’s get to work!
- My picture was on a can of Frank’s Sauerkraut that was sold Nationwide. I’m sure my mom still has a few cans if you’d like a copy 😉
- I’m a major homebody. Quarantine was good for my soul.
- If you want to make me happy, buy me burgers and beer.
- I became a first-time mom in May 2020 to a sweet baby boy named Colt Henry. He’s our little pandemic baby!
- My partner and I love classic rock so much we named our dog Floyd after Pink Floyd.
- I’ve gone back to my small town roots and now live on five acres in Morrison County!
